Cerberus Torpedo Incident MemorialPrint Page
The memorial erected over the grave commemorates five sailors of the H.M.V.S. Cerberus who were killed when a cylinder filled with gunpowder exploded during a drill in 1881.
The inscription on the front of the monument is weathered, and a newer copy of it has been installed on the back of the monument.
