Silver Jubilee of King George VPrint Page 
The tree was planted to commemorate the silver jubilee of the reign of King George V in 1935.
Jubilee Day was loyally and pleasantly celebrated at South West Rocks by an enthusiastic and representative gathering. At midday luncheon was partaken of, after which loyal address were delivered by Mr. J. Ironfield (President of the P. and C. Association), Rev. C. E. Knox (C. of E.), Rev. Harwood (Methodist) and Messrs T. Snow, D. Rowlinson, E. Kissane and A. Robinson. Appropiate songs were rendered, Miss L Knauer playing the accompaniments. Two Norfolk pines were planted by the President of the P. and C. Association in honour of Their Majesties, the King and Queen. The night was enlightened by a big bonfire and a display of fire works.
