The plaque states that a donation of selected plants was given to Camperdown Botanic Gardens as part of the Flora for Victoria Project in 1996 which commemorated the 150th anniversary of the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne and the centenary of the death of Baron Von Mueller, its first director.

In 1996 this Garden received a donation of selected plants from the Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne as part of Flora for Victoria a project celebrating the Garden's 150th Anniversary and the centenary of the death of its first Director Baron Ferdinand Von Mueller (1825 - 1896).
