Centenary of CressyPrint Page
A gate at the school commemorates the centenary of the settlement of Cressy.
Cressy centenary celebrations were continued on Saturday with a "back to school" in the morning, sports in the afternoon, and concert at night There were many former scholars at the "back to school" the oldest being Mesdames B Brown (Footscray) Hall, Myall, Lanyon (Bendigo), and McKenzie (Swan Hill). When school was dismissed a memorial gate, given by old scholars was unveiled by Mrs Brown, aged 84 years who was a pupil when the State school was opened in 1865.
