Black StumpPrint Page 
The plaque commemorates the pioneers of the District and marks the site of the former Poonindie Mission Station. It replaces the former Black Stump which was damaged by fire on 11th January 2005.

This black stump marks the lands of the former Poonindie Mission Station 1850 - 1896 and stands as a tribute to the pioneers of this District

The former "Black Stump" damaged by the bushfire on the 11th January 2005 was replaced by this fireproof black rock in 2006 using funds provided by the Eyre Regional Development Board
