The plaque commemorates the pioneers of the Johnburg District from 1876 to 1976.
The Hundred of Oladdie was proclaimed in 1876 and the government town of Johnburgh was proclaimed on land in the cadastral unit of the Hundred of Oladdie on 10 July 1879.
