The plaque commemorates the site of a shepherd`s hut built by a pastoralist in the 1880`s.
The overseer of Lake Hamilton Station was unable to locate the hut for inspection and is reputed to have said "If it is not over this hill it is nowhere else".

Commemorates the site of a Shepherd`s Hut built by early pastoralist, Price Maurice - mid 1880`s. Overseer of Lake Hamilton Station dispatched to inspect job on completion, was unable to locate hut in heavily timbered country.
"If it is not over this hill, it is nowhere else".
