The tombstone was erected by the Victorian Railways Musical Society, fellow employees of the Railway Department and members of the Melbourne Liedertafel as a token of regard and esteem in memory of Daniel A. Beaumont who died on the 17th May 1897 at the age of 53 years. Mr Beaumont was well known in amateur musical circles.
