In memory of Mrs Ellen Downey
10 - 4 - 1924 to 28 - 5 - 2004
Ellen was a local identity and tireless worker for the Wee Waa community and was frequently seen in Rose Street raising funds for numerous district charities. Most notably raising over $90,000 for the Namoi Handicapped School.
Ellen was awarded :
Wee Waa Lions Senior Citizen of the Year 1985 (Premiers Award)
Narrabri Shire Council`s Australia Day Citizen of the year Award in 1998.
Rotary`s Paul Harris Fellowship Award
Ellen received certificates from :
