Rex Tilbrook was the inaugural president of "Savrail" (1981 -1997) which sought to preserve the railway.

Rex Tilbrook Memorial Gates
The Coral Street level crossing gates are dedicated to honour the memory of the late Rex Tilbrook - inaugural President of "Savrail" (1981 - 1997)
Who was a crusader in the diligent struggle to ensure retention of the historic and scenic Mt Barker Junction - Goolwa to Victor Harbor railway for the benefit of future generations.
