The Mexican Weeping Pine tree commemorates Mary Hart (1912 - 2011) for her services to the Wonglepong Country Women`s Association and other local organisations.
Mary Hart donated and planted the seedling of the tree in 1951.

Mary`s Tree
This Mexican Weeping Pine tree (Pinus patula) was donated by Mary Hart (1912 - 2011) for planting in this park. Mary was very active in Wonglepong Country Women`s Association (CWA) and other local organisations.
Mary bought this seedling tree back from the Brisbane CWA State Conference (1951) where the country of interest that year was Mexico.
That seedling tree has grown to be a dominant feature of the landscape in her home town and stands as a tribute to Mary Hart`s contribution to the area.
