The fountain was erected in 1967 in memory of Norm Pullen, former President of the Morwong Beach Progress Association.
The Progress Association was first formed back in the early 1960’s and began as “Morwong Beach Progress Association” under the Presidency of Norm Pullen. In 1964 when they found they needed more members for a quorum, the name was changed to the Coochiemudlo Island Progress Association.
