LONG TIME RESIDENT AND DISTINGUISHED CITIZEN, FORMER MAYOR OF HURSTVILLE. PATRON AND BENEFACTOR OF ALL FORMS OF SPORT AND OF THE ARTS. FATHER OF CRICKET IN THE ST GEORGE DISTRICT, TO WHOSE FORESIGHT AND INITIATIVE IS CREDITED THE ORIGINAL CONSTRUCTION OF THIS OVAL.
