The plaque commemorates Margaret Tramontana, a community worker for the Bittern Primary School who was murdered by her husband.
At his trial in 1988 , Margaret's husband Vincenzo pleaded not guilty to murder and said that her death was an accident. His wife had started divorce proceedings against him.
