Front Inscription
This park is named to recognise the contribution of Warren James Ashfield as an employee of the Burdekin (formerly Ayr) Shire Council from 29 January 1974 to 17 October 1995.
The park is bordered by Platt Road, symbolising his role as Shire Engineer, the Burdekin River, symbolising his role as Burdekin River Improvement Trust Engineer, and the Bruce Highway, symbolising his role in Council`s construction and maintenance of roads for the Main Roads Department.
