This reserve was named by the Corporation of the Town of Hindmarsh on 16th April, 1984, in honour of John Robert Langman O. A. M.

In appreciation of 46 years of service. 33 years as Town Clerk.

He was granted freedom of the Town of Hindmarsh on 3rd April, 1978.

Erected 6th July, 1984 upon Mr. Langman`s retirement.
