James Norman Hedges Park
James Norman Hedges was employed by the Main Roads Department from 1939 to 1975.
Many of the existing trees were planted by Mr. Hedges when he carried out extensive tree planting of this park in 1942. From 1942 until 1975, Mr. Hedges generally maintained the park.
Mr. Hedges and his 'Tree Patrol' also carried out beautification works along
- The Warrego Highway from Toowoomba to Goodna.
- The Brisbane Valley Highway to Kilcoy; and
- The roadways from Toowoomba to Clifton.
