Commemorating the opening of James Barrett Nature Drive
Named in honour of Sir James Barrett, the first chairman of the park's Committee of Management and campaigner for the reservation of 3,885 hectares as anational park in October 1909.
Through the efforts of Sir James Barrett and many other park advocates, Wyperfeld National Park is now a permanently reserved area of more than 357,000 hectares.
Opened by his grandson Mr Hugh Barrett on 11 October 2009.
