The Nan Harford Bushland Trail commemorates Frederick Dudley Melville who was the first Inspector of Forest from 1911 to 1924, and the Assistant Conservator of Forests from 1924 to 1928.  He worked for over 54 years in forestry. The trail is named after his daughter Nancy Harford.

The Nan Harford Bushland Trail

In memory of Frederick Dudley Melville

The first Inspector of Forests (1911 - 1924) and Assistant Conservator of Forests (1924 - 1928) whose career in forestry  extended over fifty four years. 

His love of nature was passed on to his daughter, Nancy Harford, the former owner of this bushland from 1943 - 1990.

Unveiled by Nancy Harford, 8 May 1994.
