The bridge commemorates Allan (Danny) Hannay who worked on bridge maintenance for Queensland Rail throughout Queensland for over 48 years. Danny Hannay died in 1999.

Joined Railways 24 October 1950 and who worked throughout Queensland on bridge Maintenance for a period in excess  of 48 yYears.

Danny was a great ambassador for QR and a valued friend to many
