Dr Kyle GaultPrint Page
The fountain, erected by citizens of Mitcham, commemorates the district doctor, Dr Kyle Gault (1894 - 1955).
Dr Kyle Gault took over his father’s practice with the same dedication and was described as 'irascible' but 'loveable' and especially devoted to children, old people and animals. He supplied firewood, milk and medicine when required and daily delivered a bucket of milk to the “Eventide Home”. He retired abruptly in 1950 and died five years later.
