The plaque on the gravestone, erected by the Engineers A.I.F. Association, commemorates Monty Bloom. 

Monty Bloom served in the AIF in World War One as an engineer. He was also a skilled entertainer and organised concert parties in both World War One and World War Two to entertain the troops. He was decorated for his good services. He continued entertaining the wounded long after World War Two.
