The plaque commemorates Canon E. C. W. Fleischer who was the Vicar of the church from 1923 to 1925.

A mural tablet in Christ Church Cathedral in the memory of the late 1F. C. W. Fleischer was unveiled by the Bishop of Bendigo during the service in connection with the annual synod. The bishop made eulogistic reference to the late minister`s faith and devotion, as well as his fine ministry to the church.
