Alexander Smith Place
Arriving in 1841, Alexander Smith, one of Brisbane`s first free immigrants, practiced as a drayman from this location between 1857 - 1884. He represents those unknown workers who ensured Brisbane`s transition from an abandoned penal settlement to a prosperous township.
This park is named in his honour.
