Circle of Life MemorialPrint Page
The monument commemorates Busselton residents who have died in tragic circumstances. It has been constructed as a place of reflection for family and friends to remember local victims of tragedies.
The catalyst for the establishment of the “Circle of Life” memorial of remembrance was the Bali bombings of 2002 and 2005 with Busselton being the only town in Australia to have lost a member of the community in both bombings. Busselton Senior High School teacher Carol Johnson was killed in the 2002 Bali bombing. A student from the school, Brendan Fitzgerald, 16, died in another bombing in Bali in 2005.
