This plaque commemorates the opening of the Strathalbyn to Victor Harbor Tourist Railway, by the Premier of South Australia, the Hon. John Bannon. on the 18th in October 1986 and the arrival of the first train over the rebuilt railway

Reconstruction was funded by Commonwealth Employment Programme and South Australian Government Grant
